Step 2. In your message describe what you would like me to create. Be as specific as possible, take some time to consider the answers to the following questions:
Step 3. Pricing - is dependent on the size and complexity of the piece along with your choice of material and framing.
Step 4. Our Contract. After the initial email I like to have a discussion with my clients where we go over the specific details of the painting. Once we negotiate the terms/details of your commission, I will e-mail you a contract outlining all that we have discussed for your approval.
Step 5. Down Payment - There is a non-refundable down payment of 50% before I begin work on your painting.
Step 6. Painting - Once we have discussed the details you want in the painting, your commission will be scheduled into my calender. Once work has begun it can take up to 4 -6 weeks to complete. (rush orders are possible but may cost extra).
Step 7. Final Product - Once your painting is complete we will arrange delivery and final payment. (your work will also include all preliminary drawings or sketches which lead to the creation of your painting).
This is a small example of one of my commissioned pieces. Capturing the history of a family home can be an exciting experience and one that I do not take lightly. As I painted this Commissioned work the Client and I communicated over 20 times to make sure all the details were to his satisfaction.
